Construction Site Safety: The Basics That Save Lives

June 11, 2026·By

A construction site is one of the most dangerous workplaces there is — and almost every accident on one was preventable.

Site safety basics we enforce on every Nuvira Construction project:

1. PPE is non-negotiable: helmets, boots and high-visibility vests for everyone on site, visitors included.
2. Scaffolding checked and signed off before each shift — falls are the number one cause of serious injury.
3. Electrical work only by licensed electricians, with circuits locked out during work.
4. Clear material storage zones: blocked walkways cause trips, falling objects and fire risks.
5. A first-aid kit, a trained first-aider, and emergency numbers posted where everyone can see them.

Safety is not a cost — rework and accidents are. A safe site finishes faster, and everyone goes home in the evening. That is the only metric that matters.
